The situation escalated when the driver grazed another motorcycle and subsequently rammed a car at the Sungai Jati junction. As both motorcyclists gave chase, the driver drove against traffic, hitting several vehicles before crashing into a parked lorry. With a mob of angry citizens closing in, he fled on foot, ultimately jumping into a monsoon drain to evade the attackers. The mob threw objects and assaulted him with a coconut leaf branch.
