Government to Introduce Monthly Quota for RON95 Petrol Subsidy

Malaysians will soon face a monthly quota for RON95 petrol as the government prepares to roll out its targeted subsidy scheme. Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the quota is vital to prevent misuse, ensuring subsidies are not pumped for others or benefiting high-income earners and foreigners. 

Government to Introduce Monthly Quota for RON95 Petrol Subsidy

Ordinary users will receive a basic quota, while p-hailing and e-hailing drivers will get higher allocations. Subsidised fuel will remain at RM1.99 per litre within the quota, with market prices applying beyond. The system, expected by end-2025, will likely rely on MyKad and PADU-linked verification to ensure fair distribution.
