A 65-year-old woman, identified as Pek, has disowned her 41-year-old son after he repeatedly borrowed from loan sharks despite her paying off RM1.5mil of his previous debts. Pek revealed at a press conference organised by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong that she had sold her belongings and assets to settle his past debts.
Mother Disowns Son
However, her son, known as Lee, has been missing since September 4, leaving his family to face harassment and threats from loan sharks, including petrol bomb videos. “I have no choice but to disown him,” said the tearful mother. In another case, a 30-year-old woman named Soon reported threats after her stepsister used her address for loans. Both victims have lodged police reports.
