MP Now Questions Fluency of Singaporean English Teaching Volunteers

During a recent Parliamentary session, Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah expressed skepticism about using Singaporean volunteers to teach English in Malaysia. Puah believes that Malaysia has many English experts and should engage retired English teachers before considering foreign volunteers. 

MP questions fluency of Singaporean English volunteers 

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek responded by welcoming both Singaporean volunteers and retired teachers, with the Ministry of Education ensuring standards are met. The issue arose after a meeting between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in June.
