Malaysia to strengthen national cybersecurity agenda amid rising global digital threats

Malaysia will step up its national cybersecurity agenda, expanding strategic collaboration between government agencies, private sector partners and international allies to counter rising global cyber threats, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said. The initiative is aimed at strengthening cyber resilience and protecting critical systems in the digital era. 

Anwar says national cybersecurity efforts to be heightened in response to global threats

Anwar noted that recent high-profile cyberattacks worldwide and evolving threats require coordinated action, policy enhancements and greater information sharing to safeguard Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and economy. 

The roadmap will focus on public-private cooperation, skills-building, research and awareness campaigns, as well as stronger legal frameworks to deter cybercrime and build national digital trust.
