An Umno Supreme Council member has called for transparency regarding an alleged “supplementary order” from the former king, allowing Najib Razak to serve his sentence at home. Kelantan Umno chief Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub demanded the government clarify its stance and provide legal justification to resolve any controversy.

House arrest for 1MDB boss?
Najib claimed the order for him to serve the rest of his prison days in house arrest was issued by the former king on Jan 29, but was not announced by the Federal Territories Pardons Board. Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed the order’s existence in an affidavit. Najib is serving a 12-year sentence in Kajang prison for the SRC International case.
