PUTRAJAYA — The High Court was told that Datuk Seri Najib Razak was never deceived by fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa P Kunyalam said Najib had actively involved Low in both personal and official matters, including holiday arrangements and 1MDB’s financial operations. He said the evidence showed Najib’s reliance and trust in Low as his proxy and conduit.
Duped by Jho Low?
The prosecutor added that 1MDB’s chaotic management was deliberate, allowing funds to be diverted into Najib’s personal account. The claim that Najib was “duped” by Low was dismissed as implausible, echoing earlier findings in the SRC International case.
