PUTRAJAYA, Jan 9 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, confirmed that the Pardons Board meeting minutes on former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s clemency appeal will remain confidential. Dr. Zaliha, a Federal Territories Pardons Board member, emphasized the minutes fall under the board’s prerogative and will not be disclosed.

Calls for transparency emerged after Najib’s jail sentence was halved, with the Prime Minister’s senior political secretary urging the release of the minutes to clarify Putrajaya’s stance. Meanwhile, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated no directive for Najib’s house arrest was issued.
