After years of fighting adverts on its streaming service, Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings said Tuesday that the company is now “open” to introducing lower-priced ads in its show streaming. Social media users took the stand to also discuss it and most were making fun about the situation.

Netflix has upped its content spending, notably on originals, in order to attract more members. To cover the costs, the firm raised the rates of its services. Netflix stated that while the pricing increases are helping to boost income, they were also primarily responsible for a 600,000 subscriber loss in the United States and Canada during the most recent quarter.
Hastings basically says he is not a fan of ads in shows streaming on Netflix but he is giving consumers a choice that will allow those who would like to have a lower price and are advertising-tolerant to get what they want. He adds that this makes a lot of sense.
