There have been a number of fires related to certain buildings that may hold very important documents in Malaysia in the past. The most recent one was the KWSP building back in 2018 when the new Pakatan government took power before it was disbanded through undemocratic means in 2020.
Ministry of Finance fire
There were netizens asking whether the burning at the Ministry of Finance was true or false. However, we received the press release from the Ministry, which means to say it is true. “Duri dalam daging,” netizens are stating about the Ministry itself.
There were inappropriate comments from netizens which we think are disparaging. However, the Ministry of Finance sent a press statement about the fire and it is certain that the authorities would not want any speculations at the time being as an investigation is still ongoing.
