Netizens Not Surprised at New Rise of HIV Cases, They’re Blaming Culture Shock

There have been discussions with regards to the increase of new HIV cases in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The report states that the new cases are skewed to a group of individuals. Social media users expressed their lack of surprise towards the situation, claiming that the culture shock moving to the city could be one of the factors of this. 

Netizens not surprised at new rise of HIV cases

An X user states that some of these individuals could be from the villages and they may feel the urge to try new things while they’re in the city. Additionally, the user added that there is a reason why they left their hometown, and they should remember the main purpose of said move. 

Others state that this is in lieu of LGBTQ couples being intimate with each other. However, many forget that straight couples are also susceptible to be infected with the horrendous disease.
