A netizen tweeted that since Pakatan Harapan, Anwar Ibrahim’s party has received over 5.8 million votes, which obviously deems his party as the most popular party. They claimed that Anwar Ibrahim should lead the country due to the popular votes.
Anwar Ibrahim wins popularity contest
Others responded saying that if Malaysia bases their political winnings on popularity, Anwar Ibrahim would have been Prime Minister since GE13. Unfortunately, Malaysia uses the older English system of having a majority of parliamentary seats to lead.
Muhyiddin Yassin supporters stated that there are a large number of voters that did not want Anwar Ibrahim as well. However, PH supporters shut them down by saying even more do not want their “abah” to be prime minister.
