For some reason, it is a trend among Malaysians to not so subtly show off their savings to their social media followers. Recently, an X user was seen showing off RM800K on his profile in the guise of giving tips on how to use the new ASNB app. This of course was the perspective of netizens on X.

Apparently, the user showing off his wealth misconstrued thoughts and taught. As we all know, thoughts are a person’s thoughts. Meanwhile taught, is used as “someone taught you a skill.” Netizens state that the person is clearly doing this to show off his bank balance rather than the new updated ASNB app.
Regardless, this issue goes both ways as those who speak proper English may have a poor understanding of Malay. Malaysians are preferring to speak Malay nowadays, but there still are a large number of English speakers in this country.
