KK Mart Group founder Datuk Seri Dr K.K. Chai issued a tearful apology after a viral video showed socks with the Arabic inscription of Allah being sold at one of the brand’s branches. Despite explanations and apologies, UMNO Youth Leader Dr Akmal Saleh urged consumers to boycott the convenience store chain.

Chai expressed deep remorse, stating it was an unprecedented mistake in his 23 years in business. The sale of the controversial product has been halted. However, dissatisfaction remains, with Akmal insisting on boycotts and Duyong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy urging consumers to avoid products from the vendor responsible.
