A civil servant in Sabah has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly abusing her power to secure procurement contracts worth around RM40,000. The suspect, a woman in her 50s working at a school, was detained after giving her statement at the Tawau MACC office.

She allegedly used her position in 2020 to solicit bribes, involving the rental of photocopiers and the installation of sinks and piping. Sabah MACC director S. Karunanithy confirmed the arrest, stating the case is being investigated.
