NGO now wants Anwar’s action to protect minorities in Malaysia

1 min read

The government is seen as unfair and practising a policy of favoritism if no immediate action is taken against some preachers who are allegedly insulting non-Islamic religions. This is what the Global Human Rights Organization (GHRF) said in a rally at Putrajaya in which they urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to prove that he treats all Malaysians fairly as he has said many times during his speeches.

NGO and Minorities

GHRF chairman S Shashi Kumar said that before Anwar often mentioned that “Malay children are my children, Chinese children are my children, Indian children are my children, Kadazan children are my children and Iban children are my children.” Therefore, he said GHRF wanted the pledge to be proven with action and take appropriate measures against the non-Malays who were discriminated against by incitement to insult religion.
