As of 9am today, four out of 68 air quality monitoring stations in Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings above 100. The highest was in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan at 156, followed by Johan Setia, Selangor (155), Port Dickson (153), and Banting (151).
Nilai, Johan Setia Record Unhealthy API Levels Amid Nationwide Haze
According to the Department of Environment’s APIMS system, 58 stations showed moderate API levels, including Putrajaya (99) and Petaling Jaya (88). Meanwhile, six stations in Sarawak and Sabah recorded good air quality, with readings between 37 and 49. The API, updated hourly, categorizes air quality from “Good” to “Hazardous.”
