SHAH ALAM – Political analyst Azizi Safar suggests without contesting now, Nurul Izzah risked losing significant grassroots support in future elections. “If Nurul Izzah does not contest the deputy president position in this election, despite strong support from many branch leaders, it is highly likely she will not receive similar support in the future,” he said.

He also said that strategic maneuvering by certain parties could be fueling controversies surrounding the upcoming Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) elections, particularly for senior positions. However, Azizi argues that Nurul Izzah Anwar’s candidacy for deputy president transcends nepotism allegations, as her support stems from her influence and democratic backing.
