Netizens Now Claim Olympic “Baju Melayu” is NOT Representing Entire Malaysia

The famed designer, Rizman Ruzaini has outdone himself with designing a chic set of Baju Melayu and Baju Kurung for the opening ceremony of the Olympics. It involves the touch of tradition with some slight modern twists. However, netizens feel this is not representative of the entire Malaysia. 

Netizens claim olympic “Baju Melayu” not representing entire Malaysia 

Currently, users claim that East Malaysians are sidelined from this, and their culture should be represented as well. Others add that there are other traditional outfits in this country as well. But, designers would typically follow a theme for their clothing designs, which most Malaysians may not understand. 

Others add that the national outfit of the country is the “Baju Melayu” and “Baju Kurung.” The outfit is reflective of everyone in the country as it is representing Malaysia. But, the user who criticised the idea states that the name, which is “The Malaya” is possibly offensive to East Malaysians.
