One Million Affordable Homes Planned Under 13MP, Says Anwar

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged to build one million affordable homes between 2026 and 2035 to ensure accessible, inclusive housing for all Malaysians. Speaking during the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) tabling, he highlighted efforts to address housing mismatches and affordability through programmes like Residensi Madani and the Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme.

The government will also adopt modern construction methods and use the Kota Madani model as a housing benchmark. Additionally, a new agenda—KASIH Keluarga Negara—will strengthen family institutions, support women, the disabled, and the elderly, and empower the third sector through training, inclusive finance, and social entrepreneurship.
