The normalisation of using AI for promotional materials have reached an all time high where online food retailers are apparently using obviously AI photos to promote their food. Social media users aren’t exactly too happy with this as to them this isn’t real.

A photo went viral after social media users were shocked to see a list of local meals that don’t exactly look real. Some users even asked if this is considered as false advertising. As it is, some eateries may use placebo meals for their marketing purposes.
Others state that this could be a cost saving measure as said eatery may not have the funds to photograph all their meals. Sometimes photographing all their meals could eat into their costs as those meals could go to waste.
