In Johor Bahru, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli concluded his Jelajah Hiruk campaign with a fiery warning against “opportunists” he claimed were hijacking the party. Targeting supporters of his challenger, vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, Rafizi accused newcomers of being fast-tracked into power and rewarded with safe seats and appointments. He criticized Nurul Izzah’s Damai campaign for allegedly using fancy venues and free food, tactics he said PKR once rejected. Referencing the 2020 Sheraton Move defection, Rafizi lamented the growing opportunistic faction. Urging members to protect PKR’s reformist spirit, he vowed to block such influences in the ongoing party election.
