Opposition Calls For Special Session Of Parliament On No Confidence Motion

Kuala Lumpur: In a statement issued today, the opposition has called for a special session of the Parliament before August 9 to debate and vote on a no-confidence motion against PM Muhyiddin Yassin.

“We, the Opposition MPs agree that one a special session of Parliament must be held as soon as possible and not later than August 9 according to Meeting Rule 11 (3) to discuss and decide on the motion of confidence vote against Prime Minister.

“We cannot accept the issue of support for this Prime Minister postponed until September. It is highly unreasonable for a Government whose legitimacy is disputed and having no support of a majority of MPs to
delay the process of determining support in Parliament,” it says.
