KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 21,114 unmarried teenagers aged 19 and below were recorded pregnant between 2019 and 2024, according to Health Ministry (KKM) data. Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the government has implemented various initiatives to address the issue.

Among them is the Reproductive and Social Health Education Policy and Action Plan (PEKERTI), aimed at raising awareness on reproductive health and fostering a responsible, resilient society. The plan emphasizes positive and safe reproductive health skills through both formal education in schools and informal learning outside classrooms.
