Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar rejected accusations of meddling in Singapore’s May 3, 2025, general election, defending his social media posts as support for the “marginalised” Malay-Muslim community. In a Facebook post, Sukri insisted he respected Singapore’s sovereignty but felt a “moral responsibility” as a Muslim to advocate for justice. Singapore’s government, led by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, condemned Sukri’s posts, alongside those of PAS treasurer Iskandar Abdul Samad, for urging racial and religious voting, ordering Meta to block them. “Foreigners who urge Singaporeans to vote along religious lines have crossed the line”, says Singapore’s prime minister, Lawrence Wong.
