In Port Dickson, PAS Vice-President Datuk Idris Ahmad sarcastically questioned Barisan Nasional (BN) Perak Chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad’s target of 18,000 votes in the Ayer Kuning by-election. Idris claimed BN should have secured at least 15,000 votes, combining their past votes with Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) from the 15th General Election. However, BN’s Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir won only 11,065 votes, defeating Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Abdul Muhaimin Malek (6,059 votes) and PSM’s Bawani KS (1,106 votes). Idris also alleged misuse of government machinery by both BN and PH, accusing PH of contradicting their past democratic stance.
