Bersatu supreme council member Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has emphasized the importance of selecting Perikatan Nasional (PN) potential PM candidate well-accepted by the Malay rulers. Among the names suggested are PAS leaders Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, the Terengganu Menteri Besar, and Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, the party’s deputy president.
Wan Fayhsal highlighted their strong relationships with the royal institutions, with Tuan Ibrahim’s ties to the Pahang palace being a notable example. This comes as PAS, holding 43 parliamentary seats compared to Bersatu’s 25, stakes its claim for greater leadership within the opposition coalition. Does that mean Muhyiddin Yassin will be out of the picture soon? He is still being promoted as the poster boy for PN.
