Netizens are complaining that despite having a better pay than their parents these days, the goal to be able to afford their own home is still a far-fetched dream. However, this problem is not exclusive to Malaysia as most of the developed world is facing a similar issue.

An X user shared her thoughts on the situation citing that we may be earning more these days, but things are still expensive. Another user adds that his parents bought a house in the 1990s for only RM68,000. 

Others state that back in the day, it was affordable to live on 1 salary while having multiple children and living in a landed house. These days, this would be something unattainable.
