KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 — An estimated 18,000 people joined the “Turun Anwar” rally in the capital today, according to acting Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad. Despite the large turnout, the protest proceeded peacefully, with no police reports lodged or incidents reported.

Over 2,000 police personnel were deployed to monitor the rally, which began at 11am and concluded three hours later at Dataran Merdeka. Mohamed Usuf expressed appreciation to protesters for maintaining order and said a post-rally assessment will determine if any further action is needed.
