Penang will be the first non-Klang Valley city in Malaysia to have a rapid transit line. For the time being, it is only an LRT line. However, some users felt that this line should’ve been built around 2018. The current speculation is that the line is to be built around this year, and it would be operational around the year 2030.
Others fear that the rental prices around their areas may be subjected to an increment. This is true for most areas in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, where a new rapid transit line is built, property prices would also increase.
