A routine refuelling stop turned tense in George Town, Penang, when a Perodua Axia drove off with a RON95 petrol nozzle still attached. The incident at a Caltex station along Jalan Argyll on 24 December was shared online by a witness who initially thought the loud bang was an earthquake.

He later realised the pump was being dragged toward him but escaped unharmed. A video showed the driver stopping nearby before returning to speak with staff. The witness described himself as “unlucky but lucky” and reminded motorists to double check before driving off. Compensation discussions followed between the driver and station staff.
