Malaysia’s state energy giant Petronas announced plans to step up its exploration and production activities from 2026 to 2028, with goals to sustain daily output close to two million barrels of oil equivalent through new projects and deeper wells.
Petronas Targets Higher Oil and Gas Output with Expanded Field Development
The company said it will invest in exploration, deepwater operations and enhanced oil recovery as part of its strategy to strengthen energy security and support Malaysia’s domestic demands.
Petronas also plans longer-term infrastructure upgrades, including regasification facilities and a third floating LNG unit, as it balances current petroleum operations with future energy transition projects.
