The General Operations Force (PGA) seized various types of fireworks worth an estimated RM150,000 in a raid at a house in Kampung Dendang Timur, Ketereh, yesterday. Southeast Brigade Commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said the fireworks were found during Operation Taring Wawasan.

The items, suspected to be smuggled from Thailand, were intended for local sale during Ramadan and Aidilfitri. The case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Explosives Act 1957. The suspect and the seized items have been taken to the Kota Bharu District Police Headquarters for further action.
