PKR’s Brutal Leadership Clash Leaves Party Divided Amid Fraud Accusations

1 min read

The PKR leadership contest culminating in the May 23, 2025, vote has left the ruling party reeling from internal strife. Outgoing deputy Rafizi Ramli accused allies of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of duplicity and electoral fraud, singling out new leaders, including vice-president Ramanan Ramakrishnan, who backed Nurul Izzah Anwar’s campaign. Rafizi claimed these “unsavoury” figures prioritize money and power, threatening PKR’s reformist agenda. “Their methods revolve around money and enthusiasm for positions, not reform,” he said before his defeat. The damaging campaign has exposed deep rifts, raising concerns about PKR’s unity and future direction. PKR is now divided and on social media, very few are showing support for Anwar’s daughter.
