In PKR’s recent elections, candidates from Perak and Johor voiced outrage over alleged irregularities. A Perak candidate, claiming proof of 500 votes but officially recorded with only 200, called the results “unprecedented” in PKR’s history, citing discrepancies in over 70 divisions. He detailed spending thousands on app updates and “coffee money” to boost turnout. Similarly, a Johor candidate lamented the high costs, estimating RM200,000 to contest, including RM7,800 for app updates and RM150,000 for voter incentives. Despite proof of strong support, he was declared a loser, fueling frustration over the party’s opaque election process.
“Based on those records, Akmal Nasir received 949 votes. But the system showed only 587.”
