Former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has openly challenged his party’s leadership, stressing that governance must be rooted in due process rather than political rhetoric. Speaking on recent claims of corruption against figures such as Tun Daim Zainuddin and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Rafizi argued that once in power, leaders should abandon the habit of making accusations without evidence.
He noted that as a minister, he refrained from repeating allegations of corruption, insisting that the proper channels—SPRM, the Attorney General’s Chambers, and the police—exist to investigate and prosecute wrongdoing.

“When you govern, the responsibility is not to accuse but to prove in court,” he said, adding that justice requires individuals to have the chance to defend themselves before a judge.
Rafizi also criticized the practice of targeting deceased leaders, pointing out that they no longer have the opportunity to respond. He urged the party to focus on records, investigations, and legal action rather than slogans. His remarks highlight growing tensions within PKR, as he presses for a shift from political theatre to institutional accountability.
By challenging the party’s reliance on rhetoric, Rafizi positions himself as a voice for reform, calling for fairness and credibility in governance.
