New: PM can SACK us if he does not like us – Zahid

Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim can sack the eight Cabinet ministers from Barisan Nasional if he does not like them. Zahid said he saw no reason for any of BN’s eight ministers to resign, after Anwar said those who attack their government colleagues on the election campaign trail should step down.

“The prime minister warned that those who talk bad about other ministers or deputy ministers (during the election campaign) should resign. Those are his orders. But my answer is this: there’s no need to order people to resign because the prime minister is the one who appointed ministers and deputy ministers. If he doesn’t like us, just sack us. But he wouldn’t have the heart to sack us. All of us work very hard,” he said.
