The South Korean police have imposed a travel ban on Jeju Air CEO Kim E-bae following an investigation into a recent air crash involving the airline. Local media reported the move came after aviation authorities intensified their investigation on Thursday.

The police plan to identify the cause and responsible parties urgently and thoroughly. The crash, involving Jeju Air Flight 2216, killed 179 people, with only two survivors. 

Yesterday, the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency conducted search and seizure operations at Muan Airport, regional aviation offices in Muan, and Jeju Air’s Seoul office.
