Police have reclassified the death of a security guard as murder after the latter passed away eight months after an incident in which he was assaulted.
BFM says Perak police chief Mior Faridalathrash said police referred the case to the prosecutor’s office, suggesting a stiffer charge under the Penal Code.
The suspect could face death by hanging if found guilty.
Several politicians are asking the authorities not to allow any politicians or political interference in this case.
