Some 60 protesters, including members of Suaram, Bersih, Muda, and PSM, marched from Sogo to Dataran Merdeka, demanding the resignation of MACC chief Azam Baki after his third one-year tenure extension. Muda’s Amira Aisya criticized the government for weaponizing the anti-graft agency to shield allies. Protesters also sought clarity on the “no further action” ruling on Teoh Beng Hock’s 2009 death after an MACC questioning. Despite Anwar defending Azam’s extension, citing the challenge of finding a bold successor, critics, including PKR’s Nurul Izzah, condemned the decision, calling for greater transparency.
