Flight ticket assistance will be introduced by the government to help public university students return to their hometowns. The program is set to launch in August and aims to support students from Sabah and Sarawak who study in universities in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as those studying in the opposite direction.

Under this initiative, students will receive credits deposited into their accounts, which they can utilize to purchase flight tickets. The system is currently being developed and requires coordination with airline companies.
The assistance is expected to alleviate the financial burden faced by students, enabling them to travel back to their hometowns during festive occasions or semester breaks. The government hopes that this initiative, combined with potential airline discounts, will make it easier for students to visit their families.
