Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has renewed calls for the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) and a Parliamentary Special Select Committee (PSSC) on the judiciary, citing the urgent need for reform.
Rafizi is Not Giving Up on Judicial Reforms with RCI, PSSC
While welcoming the recent appointment of Chief Justice Wan Ahmad Farid, Rafizi stressed that deeper issues in the judicial appointment process remain unresolved. Alongside eight PKR MPs, he urged reforms to limit the Prime Minister’s power over the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC), ensure merit-based selections, and increase transparency.
Rafizi emphasized that only through RCI and PSSC can lasting reforms be achieved, beyond what JAC can currently offer.
