Rafizi won’t officiate at a PKR Youth and Women’s wing congress sending officials scrambling

1 min read

PKR Youth is urging deputy president Rafizi Ramli to reconsider his decision to not officiate the PKR Youth and Women’s National Congress on May 22, despite his earlier agreement. Rafizi sent a letter to party president Anwar Ibrahim declining the invitation, prompting PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim to appeal for his attendance to uphold tradition. The move is linked to growing support for Rafizi’s rival, Nurul Izzah Anwar, in the deputy presidency race, and tensions with Sabah PKR, where 21 of 25 branches back Nurul Izzah and vice-president hopeful Amirudin Shari, citing Rafizi’s “unprofessional” behavior ahead of the May 23 election.
