KUALA LUMPUR — Former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has strongly criticised Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s claim that Perikatan Nasional (PN) received gambling funds. Rafizi said, “We are ashamed. Anwar Ibrahim said in a speech that there is evidence PN got money from gambling. I don’t know who told him. Maybe it was Tengku Zafrul.”

He added that neither he nor others were consulted before the accusation was made. Rafizi stressed the seriousness of such claims, noting that no evidence has surfaced despite repeated assertions. The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission later confirmed the allegation could not be verified.
