Perak Opposition Leader Razman Zakaria demanded a public apology from State Executive Councillor Woo Kah Leong during a state assembly sitting for posting a provocative caricature on Facebook. Razman, suspended for six months, was offended by Woo’s unauthorized use of his photo, edited to depict him as a clown, calling it insulting. Despite his suspension, Razman followed the proceedings and threatened legal action if Woo didn’t retract and apologize. Woo, defending the caricature as factual satire, argued it was a democratic right. He acknowledged the post “triggered” some but maintained that satire, when based on facts, is a cornerstone of democracy.
