Manchester City has lost its top spot to Real Madrid in the Deloitte Football Money League, despite City’s treble-winning season. The report reveals a 14% rise in revenue for the top 20 richest men’s clubs, totaling £9bn last season.
Real Madrid overtakes Manchester City
Tottenham, surpassing Chelsea, became the wealthiest club in London. Only eight English clubs made the top 20, down from 11 in the previous year. Liverpool’s on-field struggles caused a drop from third to seventh, while Manchester United slipped to fifth.
The team claimed the top spot with £723m in revenue, surpassing City’s £718m. Barcelona led the women’s clubs in revenue.
