Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin says Malaysia will come out of the pandemic after 80 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated by Oct.

However, he is overly optimistic because his ministry is mulling a national testing strategy that may mandate regular testing.

The government is also going to set a ceiling price for test kits soon. KKM says:

“In collaboration with the MOH with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), the wholesale and retail ceiling prices for the COVID-19 antigen rapid test kit (self-test) have been set and will take effect on 5 September 2021.”
