Police have confirmed that the murder of a woman and her father in Ayer Itam, Georgetown, on Thursday stemmed from a “rejected love” motive. Acting Northeast District Police Chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake stated that the suspect, a 32-year-old man with a history of criminal and drug-related offenses, had feelings for the 30-year-old victim, who was not interested. Before the incident, the suspect reportedly threatened the victim’s family. The suspect attacked both victims with a knife, leaving at least six stab wounds on each. He later harmed himself but was apprehended and hospitalized. The two were laid to rest together in Tanjong Tokong.
