Netizens are angry at the fact that white rice is costing that much, Malaysians are not entirely used to this massive price increase for such a basic side dish that would require you to purchase other dishes to eat it with.

Furthermore, netizens are comparing the prices of the other items in the menu. For a side stall eatery, the prices are comparable to a higher end place. Others state that this is the new norm in these stalls, apparently this is the standard pricing for “nasi putih.”
Other than that, others questioned the price on a “sup tulang.” Consumers are not used to these major price increases. Previously, these sides would cost a lot less than what it is today. For the most part, many are not aware of these prices until they’d have to pay the bill.
