Gucci gained severe popularity when they released the Marmont belt which is basically two Gs attached to eachother. In 2015, the brand catapulted into fame with that design and it subsequently was placed on their handbags, shoes and their apparel.
The return of the Gucci Marmont belt
An Instagrammer states that the belt’s search results have increased dramatically since the re-colors of it were introduced. Prior to that, most fashion lovers thought that the belt is out of style, despite this, in Kuala Lumpur, it is still a popular trend item.
Following that, the prices have increased accordingly, but others speculate that the brand is doing an aggressive marketing campaign in order to recapture their market share against their competitors in the industry. Back in 2015, the belt costs around RM1,400, but now the same design will set you back around RM3,300.
